So who is Katja?

I came into the holistic industry in 2015 and have developed my own eclectic mix of content to match my client’s needs. My main body of work is Vinyasa Flow, Dynamic Power Yoga, Hot Power Yoga and Yin Yoga.

 

From my background in functional fitness at CrossFit, I have developed my own style which often involves dynamic fitness exercises, core and strength training; I’ve even developed flows which include free weights and resistance bands. In short, my power yoga flows are a legitimate workout while being scalable to all abilities.

 

As well as working for a number of venues, I also teach my own regular classes and specialist themed workshops throughout the year. 

 

I have also developed my own skillset in nutrition and wellness as a result of becoming very ill and managing my own recovery. This has culminated in training as an NLP Practitioner to most effectively coach clients, and ancestral health and nutrition training as a Primal Health Coach. I deal with typical nutritional and health goals such as weight loss, optimising body composition, fertility, managing illnesses such as diabetes, metabolic syndrome, epilepsy, Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, IBS, Leaky Gut, fatigue, joint pain and arthritis, fatty liver, autoimmune and also behavioural and eating disorders.

 

I structure nutritional recovery programs for clients that incorporate; Fasting, Ketogenics, Paleo / Primal, Low Carb - High Fat (LCHF), Carnivore and Ovo-Lacto Pescatarian solutions with minimal supplementation. I focus on my clients getting all their nutrition from the whole foods they are prescribed, and I teach them how to make lasting lifestyle changes to keep them well in the future.             

 

I live my own life as I teach my clients. For me that happens to be a ketogenic diet focused on animal proteins and animal fats with a near zero carbohydrate intake to manage epilepsy. Many of my clients are blessed with better digestion and metabolic flexibility than I am, and I allow them to exploit those advantages if they are able.


Even my daughter follows the same protocol and my Burmese cat Bailey eats a fresh, raw meat carnivore diet; they both thrive as a result.

 

Wellness is more than just doing exercise or fitness. The most important aspect is a high-quality diet of whole foods and a lifestyle that encourages good health, not the opposite.
